Kinesiology/anatomy question on planes of the body and motion?
I understand movements from the anatomical position…but I have questions on my lab like, “Now begin with the shoulder flexed 90 degrees. Elbow flexion and extension now occur in the _____ plane about the ______ axis.” (I dont want answers, I just want help understanding). Would it still be in the sagittal plane and the mediolateral axis??? I dont understand how to figure it out when they move the body part.
Help please!! And thank you :)

Flexion and extension describe the movements of joints. These actions occur in a sagittal plane around a mediolateral axis. Flexion decreases the angle between 2 bones (recall that a joint is merely cartilage that connects two bones), while extension increases this angle.
Abduction and adduction, on the other hand, describe the movement of a limb away and toward the midline of the body, respectively. These occur in the coronal plane across the anteroposterior axis.
