Reinforcing its commitment to improve the current and future state of patient experience in healthcare, The Beryl Institute launches a pilot educational outreach program to provide patient experience resources to current graduate and university students.

Initially being offered to five universities in the United States, the program provides patient experience content and programming to support the development of students in schools of medicine, nursing, public health, healthcare management and business.

Schools participating in the pilot program include:

George Washington University
Rush University
UCLA
University of Tennessee, Knoxville
Vanderbilt University

“It is of utmost importance for our students to be leaders in bettering the patient experience,” said Victoria Niederhauser, Dean, University of Tennessee, Knoxville College of Nursing. “This is a unique opportunity for our students and faculty to have a seat at the table. The Beryl Institute’s content and programming is designed to support the development of the next generation of patient experience leaders.”

Students will be offered complimentary membership to the Institute through their school, giving them access to all Institute offerings including white papers and webinars, special events, and the opportunity to apply for research grants exploring patient experience policy and practice.

The educational outreach program supports the Institutes vision of creating a global community of practice by engaging students from a diverse range of academic programs that all impact the patient experience in healthcare, said Jason Wolf, executive director of The Beryl Institute.
