I created this video to illustrate what goes through my mind when I hear Angelene. I feel as though the persona PJ took on in '95 was Angelene, who would be spoken of later during the Is This Desire? era. Using movie maker, I combined two videos from the To Bring You My Love era and the song from Is This Desire? I hope you like it.
PJ Harvey - Meet Ze Monsta (Live on BBC). This is from 1995, one of the best years of her career. The performances of this song in this era are the best.
Blanche manages to straddle herself down a flight of stairs, panicking to reach a phone. After contacting Dr. Shelby, Blanche realizes that Jane is standing right behind her. The BEST scene in the entire film.
Jane receives her liquor from Johnson's and starts reminiscing about the past. She sings one of her old tunes, but it is frightened by her own reflection when Blanche interrupts her, causing her to snap.
Marilyn Monroe reunites with Arthur Miller and starts seeing a psychiatrist, who listens as Marilyn shares a recurring nightmare she keeps having about her biological father.
Georgia, a successful musician, opens her concert while her aspiring, drug-addicted sister, Sadie, watches from the crowd. Georgia - 1995 - Starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Mare Winningham.
Disclaimer: Though I don't own the copyrights, I did edit these videos myself; they are my OWN work.
After bringing Blanche her breakfast, Jane calls up Johnson's liquor store to place an order, but discovers that her sister has made sure that the store doesn't fill anymore orders. Jane takes care of the problem.
Jane receives an inquiry about her personal ad, and Blanche tells her she's hungry. Jane teases her with a chicken leg, but is surprised by the arrival of Elvira.
After Jane snaps, she brings Blanche her lunch. Blanche confronts Jane, telling her she's planning to sell the house. Jane calls Blanche a liar, removes the telephone from her bedroom, and Blanche is frightened by her lunch.
After meeting an influential agent(in real life, Ben Lyon), who arranges a screen test for Norma Jean, who then has cosmetic enhancements to alter her appearance. She also adopts the name of Marilyn Monroe. Contrary to belief, her name is not taken from the American president, it's actually her mother's maiden name.
This is one of PJ Harvey's earliest performances of the TBYML era. This intimate, rare, seven-song set was performed some time between February 22nd-25th of 1995 at the NARM Conference. It is believed that Polly and the band were unrehearsed before the start of the show. Enjoy!
Eddie, who knew Marilyn as Norma Jean Dougherty, returns and checks up on his long-time friend, who begins mixing her medications with alcohol, as well as questioning her career.
